1st Call for Presentations

19th Annual Regional Aquatics Workshop (RAW)

June 20-24, 2005

Presentation Sessions: June 21-23

Dear Aquatic Colleague,

The Aquarium of the Pacific and the Cabrillo Marine Aquarium would like to invite you to be an active participant in the 19th Annual Regional Aquatics Workshop (RAW) being held in Long Beach, California.  You can do this by offering a presentation to the members of the public aquarium community.  Without many opportunities for formal training, public aquarists rely on information sharing within the confines of our small but highly skilled group to consistently improve the husbandry standards of captive aquatic animals. With a wide variety of experience levels in attendance, from Aquarists to Directors, presentations may cover a wide range of topics. RAW starts off this year on June 20 with a day of AZA Aquatic Taxonomic Advisory Group meetings.  The next three days, June 21 through 23, will be presentations sessions in which you have the chance to shine and share your new or re-hashed exploits with your fellows!

Presentation guidelines:

·        Individual presentations will be a maximum of 20 minutes in length (15 for the presentation and 5 for Q&A).

·        We will also consider presentations shorter in length this year.  If you feel your presentation is relevant, but may only last 10 minutes, please submit an abstract and note your anticipated presentation length.

·        PowerPoint presentations are preferred, but other forms of media can be made available at request.  Please let us know your media needs.

Interested parties should send informal abstracts in Microsoft Word format to:
