Presenters

Presenters, please have all your visual aids prepared well in advance of your session and report to the moderator during the break before your presentation. Speakers can drop off presentations at the RAW registration desk between 4:00 pm and 8:00 pm on Sunday, March 1, and at the A/V table  on Monday, March 2. A representative from Animal Professional (the A/V company) will be on hand to answer questions during all breaks and lunches. If you require additional technical assistance, please email support@animalprofessional.com

Posters
Posters will be available to view in the foyer outside the meeting room throughout the conference.
 

A Message from Animal Professional

As part of our mission we record animal conferences and symposia so that the information presented can live on long after the meeting is over and be available for other animal professionals. Learn how to access all our great content by visiting AnimalProfessional.com.

Before you leave the conference, you will receive an email with your user name and password to  AnimalProfessional.com. As part of our partnership, all registered attendees of RAW will have access to the full website for two months and the conference videos for one year, as part of your registration fee. This process will allow you to return to your institution and share the valuable information exchanged at RAW.

Registration Desk/Info Desk
Registration will take place at the Monterey Marriott at the following locations and times: 

  Sunday, March 1 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm Hotel lobby, 1st floor
  Monday, March 2     6:30 am - 5:00 pm Foyer, San Carlos Ballroom, 2nd floor
  Tuesday, March 3 7:00 am – 5:00 pm

Breakfast and Lunch
You are on your own for breakfast and lunch each day, unless you purchased the Professional Development Lunchtime Session on Wednesday, March 4. Coffee, tea and whole fresh fruit will be available at the morning break each day. Coffee, tea, sodas, whole fresh fruit and cookies or brownies will be available at the afternoon break each day.

Dinner Locations and Transportation
Dinner will be provided on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings.

Tuesday, March 3  Turn 12 Bar & Grill (400 Tyler Street) is just a few blocks walk from the Marriott.

Wednesday, March 4 Trolleys will run continuously from 5:00 pm to 11:00 pm, picking up from the trolley stop in front of the Monterey Conference Center (diagonally opposite of the Marriott) and dropping off at the trolley stop in front of the Monterey Bay Aquarium (MBA).

Thursday, March 5  Motorcoaches will start loading from in front of the Marriott at 6:30 pm to bring attendees to MBA’s Animal Research and Care Center (ARCC). Motorcoaches will start returning from the ARCC at 9 pm.

Weather and What to Wear
It’s always “sweater weather” in Monterey. We recommend that you dress in layers. It will be around 45° F (7°C) in the evenings and probably no higher than 65° F (18°C) during the day. The dress for all events is casual. The event at the ARCC is both inside and outside. While there will be heaters in the outdoor tent, we suggest you bring a jacket or sweater.

Name Badges
Please wear your name badge at all times. Name badges are required to enter the meeting room and the evening event venues and to board the trolley to the Aquarium on Wednesday night and the bus to the ARCC on Thursday night.

Drink Tickets and Cash Bars
You will be given a few drink tickets inside your name badge holder. They can be used Tuesday evening at Turn 12 Restaurant and on Wednesday evening at the Monterey Bay Aquarium. Drink tickets are not needed on Thursday evening at the ARCC. After you have used your drink tickets, you may purchase beverages with cash at the Aquarium and with both cash and credit at Turn 12.

Entrance to Monterey Bay Aquarium with RAW Name Badge
The Monterey Bay Aquarium is open Sunday, March 1 through Sunday, March 8 from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm. You may visit the Monterey Bay Aquarium on these days by going to the Main Entrance and showing your RAW name badge to one of our Guest Experience staff.

Monterey Bay Aquarium Gift and Bookstore
Our Gift and Bookstore will be extending a 10% discount to all RAW attendees during conference week.  Just show your RAW conference badge at the register to receive your discount!
On Wednesday, March 4, the evening of the dinner at the Aquarium, our Gift and Bookstore will be open from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm.  Take the trolley early and shop before dinner begins at 6:30 pm.
